![]() ![]() For anyone in the same situation as me, I suggest doing the following: Use BCA to make a USB for Windows 8.1. This seems to be a pretty persistent issue in High Sierra.Īs I suspected, the install.wim file is the reason why bootcamp assistant doesn't like making Windows 10 USBs. They seem to actually put all the files in, but then my guess is that the USB is in the wrong format afterwards. This is why I tried the other two terminal methods. This is why bootcamp assistant gives this error. The file, install.wim is a bit bigger (around 4.09). Possible explanation for "Not enough space" error: The format FAT-32 has a transfer limit of 4GB. I'm getting pretty tired and have googled the hell out of this and nothing seems to help. This uses the terminal instruction: sudo dd if=/path/to/target.img of=/dev/diskN bs=1mĪll files seemed to have been copied but the USB is not bootable on either my new custom pc or on the macbook.Įrased and formatted to FAT and exFAT, tried using the terminal instruction: cp -rp /Volumes/CCCOMA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV9/* /Volumes/WINDOWS10/ Used bootcamp, but got the error, "Your bootable USB drive could not be created - There is not enough space available in the disk"Įrased and formatted to FAT and exFAT, and tried BCA again. On high sierra, with a new 32-GB USB 3.0 stick and a new 16-GB USB 2.0 stick, I have done the following: I am trying to make a Windows 10 64-bit USB installer.
